2018 has been an exciting one for Profit Power on a variety of fronts. We continued to expand our client base, launch new solutions, and improve our Profit Power enterprise suite of products to help our customers stay ahead of their competition. We also held our fifteenth annual Profit Power Symposium, and added several new team members!
Long & Foster Real Estate goes live with Profit Power
After two years of data conversion, training, software development, and implementation, Long & Foster Real Estate went live with Profit Power in June. Being one of the largest real estate brokers in the country with over 200 offices and 10,000 agents, this was a massive undertaking that took a lot of hard work, planning, and dedication by both our implementation team and Long & Foster’s staff. We’re proud to have such a prominent company use our software to manage their transactions and commission processing.
We added the following companies to our client roster:

Partners Trust (A Pacific Union Company)
We also helped to merge Profit Power into the newly formed company Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices the Preferred Realty.
In addition to the work of converting new companies to Profit Power, we worked hard to improve our technology offerings in a variety of ways. First off, we continued to expand our API capabilities and add features making it easier for our customers to pull data from third-party software vendors as well as push data out to complementary products. Profit Power acts as a hub for buyer and seller data. Having the ability to push listing and sales data automatically from a transaction management software platform into Profit Power saves our users an enormous amount of time. Likewise, the ability for 3rd parties to pull data out after a sale occurs is a time saver and a proven way to gain efficiencies.
We also continued to improve upon our agent-facing application, Profit Power Agent Edge. Agent Edge is our mobile-friendly solution brokers can make available to their agents. This powerful tool allows agents to access critical transaction data on their mobile devices. It includes the ability to obtain details on each past transaction including property details, buyer and seller information, and commissions earned. Agents have access to their recent Accounts Receivable activity and unpaid AR items, as well as year to date statistics on units, volume, earnings, and average sale price. Agent Edge is a great way to give your agent’s access to critical data right through their mobile devices. It saves your administrative staff time printing and sending out reports manually, and serves as a great way to recruit and retain agents.
In the past few years, we have worked on developing back office software options for smaller to medium sized real estate firms. We developed our SMARTS software offering with smaller offices in mind. For years we saw a need in the industry to offer an easy to use – low-cost option for small firms looking for a better solution than spreadsheets to track and manage agent commissions. SMARTS is that solution. We have used our knowledge of what the most critical aspects of managing a transaction and processing a commission are, and developed a solution that a small broker can implement and use with ease.
We’re also now offering our Profit Power Standard version meant for medium-sized companies (50-200 agents). Profit Power Standard contains many of the core modules of the Profit Power Enterprise version, but strips away many of the complexities needed by larger real estate brokerages.
The 2018 Profit Power Symposium
This past September we held our 15th annual Profit Power Symposium in Nashville TN. This yearly event brings together our Profit Power customers and our entire staff of trainers, developers, support, and sales to discuss all things Profit Power. It is an excellent way for our customers to share ideas, learn new strategies, and have a good time with each other and our team. We’re already in the process of planning next years’ event.
New Profit Power Team Members
As we continue to grow our client base and expand our product offering, we have also added to our team. We’ve hired Kathryn Talbott as a support representative. Kathryn works with our clients offering support and training, as well as assisting new clients to implement Profit Power.
We also hired Leslie Baczynski as a Profit Power Business Analyst. She helps existing clients implement new version and features of Profit Power as well as assist in training and implementing new clients.
Finally, we would like to introduce Keith Hunter to our sales team. Keith has been in the real estate back office arena for over twenty-five years. His background includes selling, training, and implementing different real estate back-office software products. Keith will be spearheading our Profit Power Standard and SMARTS sales efforts, and we are very excited to have him on board.
